Welcome back! It’s been exactly one year since I signed off after returning from our tour of the major Islands of Italy and France. Much has happened, much of it unexpected.
In 2025, I published three books! Each is a collection of short stories, prequels to the two trilogies. Arranged chronologically, the stories read like a novel, so you can enjoy a different experience if you read them on my blogs. Remember that I also sell books directly, and I offer signed first editions to my readers. Click here for more info.
I had hoped to ride some short tours this year, but life got in the way. Then, on 30 May, I tripped and smashed my left knee. The injury interrupted my riding for two weeks, but I am riding every day again, getting ready for this year’s tour.
Today, I am driving to Charlottesville, where I will leave my car with my son for a month or so. A quick train trip to Connecticut to see my family in Old Lyme and Andover, then meet Cheryl in Boston on the 20th. We’ll ride Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard again, but this time, we won’t go to Block Island and Mystic, and, hopefully, we won’t dodge a hurricane. On the other hand, we plan to spend a week at each place, since we discovered the beauty of spending more than overnight last time.
As usual, I won’t report while I am on the road, but I will take notes. Meanwhile, I have front-loaded some sea stories and short stories for your enjoyment on my author’s blog.
The next installment here will be my report on the 2025 Tour of Cape Code and Martha’s Vineyard. All y’all come back!
Smooth roads and tailwinds,
JT
